The Faculty Sampling Portal allows verified users to sample up to 100 eTextbooks per year.
If you reach your maximum number of sampled titles and need to add additional titles to your account, you will need to contact VitalSource Support for assistance.
Our Support team will assist you with adding additional titles to your account after a brief verification process.
How many titles can I sample from the Faculty Sampling Portal?
The Faculty Sampling Portal has textbooks from over 1000 publishers. We certainly understand if you want to look at more than a few titles at a time.
Verified users of the Faculty Sampling Portal can sample up to 100 eTextbooks per year.
Each sampled title has one year of Bookshelf Online access. If a sampled title's access expires, you can renew your access to extend access to your course materials.
How to remove sampled content from your account
The Faculty Sampling Portal allows verified instructors to sample titles from a catalog of thousands of exam copies.
Should you have a title(s) that you no longer wish to have in your library, you will need to contact VitalSource Support for assistance.
VitalSource Support will assist you in removing unwanted titles in your account. Remember, each sampled title has one year of access. Once access expires, the book will no longer be in your account.
What if the title I want is not available to sample?
The Faculty Sampling Portal allows verified instructors to sample titles from a catalog of thousands of exam copies.
Chances are VitalSource has the title you are looking to sample. However, there are a few things to know about the Faculty Sampling Portal:
- Verified instructors cannot sample Courseware from the Faculty Sampling Portal
- Not all content available in the VitalSource Store will be available to sample
- Depending on the country or region you are in, the catalog of available title may differ
If the title you are looking to sample is not available in the Faculty Sampling Portal, please reach out directly to your Publisher Representative for assistance. VitalSource Support will not be able to add content not approved for sampling to your account.
My Sampled Title disappeared, how do I get it back?
The Faculty Sampling Portal allows verified instructors to sample titles from a catalog of thousands of exam copies.
When you sample a title from the Faculty Sampling Portal, you get 365 days access.
Once your access expires, the title will disappear in Bookshelf Online. You will be able to go back to the Faculty Sampling Portal and its renew access for another year.
Renew Access to Expired Content
- Go to https://sampling.vitalsource.com/ and sign in to the Faculty Sampling Portal.
- Click on the Faculty Sampling Dashboard icon, next to the Account icon, and choose My Library.
- Find the title that expired in your account, click the arrow under the title of the book, and select View Details.
- On the product page, click the Renew button to add the book back to your Bookshelf.
- You will receive an email from VitalSource with a link to reactivate your eTextbook. Once you click, the eTextbook will be available to read in Bookshelf once again.
Another option:
- Go to https://bookshelf.vitalsource.com/ and sign in using your faculty credentials.
- Go to “My Library” and find the title that expired in your account,
- Go to Search and search that title, and select View Details of the title you are interested in renewing access.
- On the product details page, click the Renew button to add the book back to your Bookshelf.
- You will receive an email from VitalSource with a link to reactivate your eTextbook. Once you click, the eTextbook will be available to read in Bookshelf once again.
Complete the steps above for any expired content sampled from the Faculty Sampling Portal.
